{"id":2305,"date":"2020-09-08T16:50:20","date_gmt":"2020-09-08T14:50:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lebasic.com\/?p=2305"},"modified":"2024-10-16T10:57:26","modified_gmt":"2024-10-16T08:57:26","slug":"the-environmental-benefits-of-vegetarian-meals-served-in-french-school-canteens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/basic.coop\/en\/actualites\/publication-en\/the-environmental-benefits-of-vegetarian-meals-served-in-french-school-canteens\/","title":{"rendered":"The environmental benefits of vegetarian meals served in French school canteens"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 14.0pt;\">With a billion meals served each year in France, school catering has major repercussions not only on children&#8217;s eating habits but also on the agricultural world which produces the food products and, by extension, on all of the population and the environment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14.0pt;\">Based on data from the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/parcel-app.org\" rel=\"noopener\">PARCEL tool<\/a> it has developed, BASIC has analysed the effects of the introduction of vegetarian menus on climate change, water pollution and abstraction, and the risks of deforestation.
