{"id":9520,"date":"2025-04-24T14:58:34","date_gmt":"2025-04-24T12:58:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lebasic.com\/?page_id=9520"},"modified":"2025-04-24T14:58:34","modified_gmt":"2025-04-24T12:58:34","slug":"our-tools-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/basic.coop\/en\/our-work\/our-tools-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Our tools"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"\">Our tools<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"important\">To support the ecological transition of citizens, businesses and regions, BASIC develops decision-making tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr \/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"columns\">\n\t<div class=\" large\">\n<p>Here are some of the tools currently offered by BASIC:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"#Parcel\">Parcel<\/a>, a simulator to help relocalize food production<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#Valuechain\">The Distribution of value observatory<\/a>, in international value chains<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Parcel\" class=\"important\"><strong>Parcel<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the first-ever online food footprint simulator, Parcel is a simple, fun and free web-based tool that enables you to assess, for a given territory, the agricultural land required to feed the population with locally-sourced products, as well as the agricultural jobs and ecological impacts associated with possible changes in agricultural production methods and\/or diets. Parcel was developed by BASIC in partnership with the French National Federation of Organic Agriculture (F\u00e9d\u00e9ration nationale d&#8217;agriculture biologique) and the NGO Terre de liens to <strong>support food and agricultural transition and relocation projects<\/strong> on a regional, departmental, or even local scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"image size-large colorized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"457\" src=\"https:\/\/lebasic.com\/v2\/content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Parcel_en-1280x457.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6294\" srcset=\"https:\/\/basic.coop\/v2\/content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Parcel_en-1280x457.jpg 1280w, https:\/\/basic.coop\/v2\/content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Parcel_en-540x193.jpg 540w, https:\/\/basic.coop\/v2\/content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Parcel_en-768x274.jpg 768w, https:\/\/basic.coop\/v2\/content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Parcel_en-640x229.jpg 640w, https:\/\/basic.coop\/v2\/content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Parcel_en.jpg 1400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Parcel can be used to simulate the effects of scenarios such as increasing the proportion of organic farming, reducing the proportion of food of animal origin, or even reducing waste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Highly customizable, Parcel can be used by citizens wishing to know their region&#8217;s capacity for food transition, as well as by elected representatives wishing to know whether local agricultural production will enable them to reach the target of 20% organic products in school cafeterias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parcel is <a href=\"https:\/\/parcel-app.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">available free of charge here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are currently developing a version of Parcel adapted to Wallonia, in partnership with the Sytra team at the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Valuechain\" class=\"important\"><strong>Distribution of value observatory<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BASIC has developed a tool that shows the distribution of value for typical products in several sectors, from their production, sometimes in faraway countries, to their consumption on European markets.
